Lori Vallow Daybell, who is serving consecutive life sentences in Idaho for murdering two of her children after being inspired by what prosecutors called her “doomsday” beliefs, has been extradited to Arizona to face charges of conspiracy to commit murder in two other cases. Sheriff’s deputies from Maricopa County, Ariz., accompanied Ms. Vallow Daybell, 50, on the 18-hour drive from prison in Pocatello, Idaho, to the Estrella Jail in Phoenix, where she was booked late on Wednesday night, the Maricopa County sheriff, Paul Penzone, said at a news conference. Ms. Vallow Daybell, who will remain in custody without bail, “was very sociable the entire trip,” the sheriff said. She “talked quite a bit.”Ms. Vallow Daybell faces two counts of conspiracy to commit murder related to two cases in Arizona. She was indicted in 2021 in Maricopa County after her brother, Alexander Cox, shot and killed the fourth of her five husbands, Charles Vallow, in July 2019.

Karrin Taylor Robson, who narrowly lost to Lake in the 2022 primary after spending $20 million of her family’s money, is seriously considering a Senate run, a source close to her said. And Mark Lamb, the Pinal County sheriff, is also considering a Senate run in 2024, said an Arizona Republican source. Election officials in Maricopa County, Arizona's most populous, said it could take until at least Friday to tally all votes. About 400,000 votes in Maricopa County remain to be counted, election officials said. The race for governor and U.S. Senate remained uncalled on Wednesday, with about 70% of votes tallied. Jamie Rodriguez, the interim registrar of voters in Washoe County, Nevada, said during the state's primary season her staff was harassed by people convinced of election fraud.

"We're here in Maricopa County, we've got residents of Maricopa County that are trying to do the right thing and understand what the truth is, and a lot of this misinformation is being spread by people who don't even live here in Maricopa County," Gates said. For the past two years, Maricopa County has been ramping up efforts to combat misinformation, which has especially affected the area. Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone said the county is "committed to protect the free vote in a republic." As of Monday morning, the Maricopa County recorder's office received 974,760 early voting packets and signature verified 965,000 of those, according to county Recorder Stephen Richer.
